10 on Tuesday

1. In some exciting news, Scotty & Emily got a pool over the weekend! I, for one, am thrilled about this, because I don't know how many times my family or I have said how we wished we had a pool nearby on hot summer days. Thankfully, it is about four feet deep, but it isn't filled up that much. Also, Cody and Kyle are required to wear their lifejackets and have an adult in the water with them at all times, so we are okay on that end. On Thursday it should be ready for our swimming enjoyment!

2. My Mimi is starting to get better, although she isn't quite 100%. She is much more perky when we go visit her or when we call her, which is better than she was last week. No news about the Holter monitor just yet, though..

3. June has begun, and I'm not a big fan of it, personally. I never really have been. July, well, that's a different story, but I don't particularly care for June. Nothing too horrible has happened to me in June, but I still don't like it, end of story.

4. Yesterday, I went to town and celebrated Tevis's birthday with him. We had fun, and went to the movies. We intended to go see the new Pirates movie, but by the time we got there, we were about 15 minutes late for the 7:00 showing, and there wouldn't be another until 10:00, which was too late. We decided to see Hangover 2 instead, which I thought was funny, but definitely isn't for everyone. For his present, I got him a polo and I made him some Treasure cookies (recipe coming tomorrow!). He probably thought the shirt was cliche, but he did a good job of fooling me into thinking he was excited about it! :) (I know he was excited about the cookies! Lol)

5. What's with this heat?! 104 degrees (in Cherokee today) on June 7th, what is the world coming to?! We could really use some rain after harvest slows down for everyone.

6. This is turning into the Tragic Ten on Tuesday, because there's one more thing vexing me: I miss my besties!!! :/ I haven't seen them basically since graduation night, and I don't like it. I have a feeling that there may have to be a girl's night in our future! Actually, Shea really hasn't been home much since graduation, and I'm fairly certain that Tonisha has been either working, babysitting, or hanging out with her new (and first) boyfriend, so I really can't be mad at either of them! :)

7. In a completely random (though not depressing) thought, I am considering getting a perm. I go back and forth on the subject so many times, but I think that it could be nice when I go to college, because I wouldn't necessarily have to blow-dry or straighten it on a daily basis. I'm not too terribly committed to the idea just yet, only because I'm not a big fan of all of the chemicals, and I have yet to taint my hair with any chemicals, and I don't want to for a while.

8. After my parents and I finished eating supper this evening, the harvest crew for the field across the road from my house arrived. Actually, landed would be a better term, because it seemed much more like an alien invasion than a harvest crew. There were three huge combines, a tractor with a grain cart, a semi truck, and a fuel truck. Within about thirty minutes, almost half of the field was clear. They didn't waste any time, for sure!

9. In the past week, I have been reading some of my blog posts from last August/September/October, and Wow, I have come a long way, personally, since then! My life is quite a bit different, and it seems hard to believe where I was almost a year ago. It seems like it has been an eternity since then, and like I have actually changed some since then. My, what time can do to a person...

10. My final, most exciting, super-duper, amazing thing is this. I have been sworn to secrecy on my blog since I found out about a month or so ago, but here it is for the world to see! I am going to be an aunt again!!!!! :D
My older sister, Emily, is expecting a child due around December 19th, which, thankfully is the week after finals! I am so thrilled about this, and cannot wait to meet him/her!!!!! She will soon be 12 weeks along, and entering her 2nd trimester! I am fairly certain that, like with Cody and Kyle, she and Scotty will again choose not to find out their baby's gender. He/She will be the best Christmas gift this year!!! On a side note, Cody & Kyle are thrilled and are hoping for a little sister, I guess we'll have to wait and see! :)

  1. Your hair is so beautiful like it is I wouldn't put those harsh chemicals on it either if I were you. Congrats on doing your part to take care of the earth (that's why I'm sporting the boring gray now, by the way). I am so happy for Emily and Scotty; they are such good parents.
